With a pair of SLI enabled 8800M GTX's in a notebook however, they're boasting capability of playing Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3 along with all the usual DirectX 9 lineup. One extra little feature which is quite neat is a 100% hardware acceleration of H.264 (mpeg 4 high definition, better than XviD) video decoding via nVidia's PureVideo HD™ engine. A feature which both improves video quality and utilizes the graphics processor to decode the video rather than the native system's CPU. As shown in the article image, these chips will be used by OEMs such as Dell, Alienware and many others in both North America and Europe soon. Prices vary but these are serious gaming rigs so expect to need a loan/sell a kidney. Δ |
