Updates and things to look forward too
As I haven't written any blog entries recently I thought I'd give a bit of an update into the goings on at EurekaPC.
Obviously there have been improvements on the site which have been ongoing as I basicly create them. In-line images have been added to the various sections of the site including news and reviews, this is a 3 way implementation, firstly there's the template parsing which inserts the image where the tag is within each article, which means images can go anywhere within an article, not just a pre-set place, second is the thumbnail generation so you don't load the huge image by default, instead clicking it to display the larger image, and lastly there is the javascript controlling the clicking of the thumbnails to show the pop-up style full size version.
After that I did some integration messing with our forums to get the latest posts displayed in the top left of our main website, then lastly there is the RSS feeds for the various sections. Hopefully these features can help you keep up to date.
I've also been tuning the website for speed, so it should be loading pretty darn fast now.
I've started doing some work on a website-game type of project and the developer of that has promised to create a decent logo for our website too. So with luck we will have a not-so-crap logo to replace the very-crap logo we currently have. If all goes well, possibly some icons and button images too. Which will be nice.
Anyways I'm just about to put the finishing touches to our first review now I've had time to do it. With more to come shortly, I'll be doing some software reviews whilst we wait for hardware (please god let the iPhone magicly appear on the doorstep, along with one of those new Dell Ubuntu PCs.. wink, nudge..) and lets face it there wont be any shortage of entertainment over the summer months as there's some fantastic movies about to be released. The first of which is Oceans 13, due out in a couple of days actually. Which is nice. Δ
